U1 Das Ewige Hin und her
U1 Berlin
In its more than 100 year existence, the U1 metro line has had a turbulent and
unique history. Interesting to see how after a decades long
separation the metro networks are connected again; after the fall of
the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989 and the German reunification on 3
October 1990. It is now almost 30 years ago. The eastern part of
line U1, the air track through Kreuzberg, is also in its entirety
under monument protection. Before 1961 you had the so-called
Grenzgänger. The borders have faded again since Wende. But where
do you still taste history still the best? Where can you find the
perfect place where all Berliners meet every day? All of the
factors that make this project extremely interesting for me. More and more
I am trying to shape this project into the spirit of the U1
to catch.
